This would be great for a high school student . You can draft papers and receive email.you can get YouTube on it.But I waited a month to put Netflix on it only to find out it doesn't support it even with an update. That was very disappointing because watching movies was the main thing that I wanted it for. Other than that it works fine and seems to be dependable .I've had it for 90 days now
