1.0 out of 5 stars Let me save some of you a lot of grief
By John S.
First off let me say I am in the IT business and have used and tested quite a few laptops over the last few years and I will say this one hits almost all the right buttons. Its small, premium look and feel with the aluminum design, has a great screen (which I was afraid of since I am somewhat of a screen snob) and honestly pretty decent battery life. Now the reason I am sending this back is there is an issue with the new Intel graphics driver with the Iris xe chips. This appears to be an Intel issue as people with the new Dell XPS (has the same screen panel and same Intel chips) are complaining as well. The screen will intermittently go black and when it comes back the colors and brightness will be off for a few seconds. it can go for 30 minutes just fine and then will crash 3 times in the next 5 minutes. You never know and it is just really irritating. I ran the diags and it is telling me the video driver is crashing. It crashed 9 times in an hour on me when I was running the log. Now I reinstalled Windows from scratch, twice, went to the Intel site and tried the latest drivers, and tried every setting on and off in the intel control panel and nothing is working. I am not saying this is Razers fault here and I absolutely love everything else about this laptop but its a business laptop and I have to have this stable in order to do work.I dont care about gaming on this at all as I have a gaming rig for that, but there is zero excuse for Intel to put out trash like this in the year 2020. This chipset should NEVER have come to market if there is not a stable driver for it so at this point the laptop is going back and I am going to take a hard look at Apple which really sucks. Sorry for the negative post on such a great machine and Kudos to Razer for making this device but man this si so dissapointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great
By j
Well designed, solid build construction. The keyboard has a nice tactile but is slightly shallow. The touchpad is firm with a solid thump for a click, though the surface is a tad rough.Unfortunately the fans are on nearly constantly, even when not doing anything. This makes it pretty annoying to use in a quiet office. When the fans aren't on, there is a slight coil whine but it's not terrible. The included Razer software for managing the keyboard is terrible. I just wanted it to be a solid white color like a normal non-gaming machine and the software was so slow and awkward to use. I think Razer should make the software for its non-gaming Razerbook series much more simple and easier to use. If you actually want blinking keyboard lights to match your music on your "professional" computer, go download their more complex software.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual screen resolution and aspect ratio of this laptop?
The screen resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels (FHD+) with a 16:10 aspect ratio, not 4K as mentioned in some marketing copy. The 16:10 ratio provides more vertical space compared to traditional 16:9 displays.
How many Thunderbolt 4 ports does it have and what other connectivity options are included?
It has two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Additional connectivity includes a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card slot, and one USB 3.0 port, allowing you to connect peripherals without needing a dongle.
What does 'Intel Evo Certified' mean for this laptop's performance?
Intel Evo Certification guarantees specific performance standards, including instant wake from sleep, instant resume, and over 9 hours of battery life under real-world usage conditions, as confirmed by the listed average battery life.
Is the 256GB storage upgradeable, and what type of SSD is used?
The laptop uses a 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD connected via a Thunderbolt interface. While the specifications don't explicitly state if it's user-upgradeable, the use of a standard M.2 form factor suggests it might be replaceable, though the thin unibody design could complicate access.
What is the Vapor Chamber Cooling System and how does it affect performance?
The Vapor Chamber Cooling System is an advanced thermal solution designed to efficiently dissipate heat from the Intel Core i7 processor in the slim chassis. This helps maintain higher performance levels during sustained workloads without thermal throttling.
