5.0 out of 5 stars Looks/Runs Like New
By Roark Gourley
This "renewed" product came in a plain box with just the laptop, the razer power brick, and the charging cable. There was no manual or Razer packaging. However, despite this, the computer was completely clean, dust-free, and had absolutely no visual imperfections. On startup, Razer synapse was not pre-installed like usual with Razer's gaming laptops, but this was an easy fix by installing it manually off their website.I've had the laptop for 2 weeks now and experienced no mechanical or software issues. Everything works as it is supposed to. The performance is great for what I need. Every game ive tried runs at 90-180 fps on medium-high graphics. The cpu has yet to throttle on me and the cooling is great for how thin and sleek the device is. It hardly goes above 75 Celcius on most games. The RGB keyboard is cool looking, bright, responsive, well layed out, and Razer Synapse lets you customize the colors a little bit. You can sync the RGB to other Razer chroma devices you might have which is neat. The speakers and camera aren't spectacular, but they are standard quality and they work. The battery life is short, especially since I'm used to the 8-hour battery life of my old MacBook Pro. I knew this though when I bought it and was willing to sacrifice battery life for powerful hardware. I rarely use the computer away from my desk for power-intensive tasks such as gaming, so this isn't really an issue for me personally. Be aware though that the battery life is 4 hours for idle tasks and probably only 2.5 if you plan to run intense programs that strain your cpu/gpu.
