5.0 out of 5 stars Nice laptop
By Breeder
I was a bit skeptical about this new brand at first, but the specs on this laptop, especially at this price point, had me reconsidering. So, I took the plunge and ordered it. The delivery was super fast, and the packaging was pretty solid—right on par with what I’ve seen from brands like HP.As for the laptop itself, it’s exactly as advertised. The backlit keyboard, fingerprint unlock, privacy camera, and all the ports you could need—it’s all there. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor is seriously impressive for a laptop in this price range. It handles my daily tasks with ease, and to my surprise, I can even play some games on it when I want to unwind! The fast-charging adapter they included is a total game-changer. I tested it with my iPhone, iPad, and Bluetooth earbuds, and it charged everything quickly without a hitch. As someone who’s constantly on the go for work, this is a huge plus—I no longer have to lug around a bunch of different chargers. The NIMO adapter takes care of it all!And last but not least, I have to say... that little fish logo from NIMO is super cute!Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a quality student laptop, this device is also good enough for professionals

NIMO Youngbook 15.6" Laptop, Windows 11, Pentium 4-Core Processor★★★★★ (5.0 Stars!)Got this Youngbook student laptop for my grandson for his schoolwork, and student software and streaming programs. Particularly useful for homework, which at his school, can be optionally submitted online, but I also see him use it to read textbooks, as well as Libby and Hoopla novels for his age.Big bonus Getting him to allot less time to TV viewing and gaming consoles makes the investment worthwhile, per se.Sleek design, unique lay-flat feature Sleek, slim all-metal silver design with a unique screen that hinges opens completely flat on a surface, ideal for drafting or using the screen as a tracing pad.Windows 11 Home Edition, clean installPreloaded with Windows 11 without adware, which is a major plus minimizing the usual need to uninstall bloatware. All good to go after configuring startup.Microsoft Office Products, pre-installedOn top of an authentic version of Windows 11, all the major Microsoft Office products are also preinstalled, a perk I was not expecting for a student laptop.ConnectivityBluetooth. Ports: USB-2, USB-3, USB-C, micro-SD, and HDMIAdditional features, observed and tested.15.6-inch is just the right size, plus screen resolution, brightness and clarity is topnotch, allowing the student to study with minimal eye fatigue.Optional fingerprint unlock feature.Backlit keyboard.On-board speakers. Good audio quality, adequate for student, even some entertainment purposes.On-board video card performs well for video streaming and chats, but runs sluggishly on the Steam games tested. This is definitely not a gaming laptop.Overall performanceThis off-brand device surprisingly outperforms our other older major brand laptops. The lay-flat feature makes this particularly unique. More than a student laptop, this can be used for many professional purposes, i.e. spreadsheets, reports, presentations and so forth.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
