3.0 out of 5 stars It's a compromise. Specs are Good Value for the price, but it has issues
By Mikey
1. Nimo is a new brand to me, and it's a good laptop overall for the price, I do plan to keep it. Normally I'd give this review a 2*, but... I'll give them 3 to be charitable since they're new. -- The bottom line is, it's a good value for the price, the specs you get are nice; 64gb Ryzen 9... you can game on this for sure. -- but... it's got some issues and you're going to have to compromise:2. It has a high pitched fan. Maybe most people will not even notice it... it's right on the edge of my hearing, but like, it's enough that it causes me stress and irritation. -- Temporarily I am using a cooling pad with an integrated fan that goes underneath, but it's quite clunky, and sometimes it is not enough, and the high pitched fan comes on. I'd rather have a thicker laptop and a fan that doesn't whine.3. It's built with 15" or even 14" laptop components; inside the case is like 30% empty... and there is room to add one single additional M.2 SSD, on top of the Wi-Fi card, but like... with all this extra space, they could have added a bay for a 2.5" SSD, or 3x M.2 bays, etc. -- but this component selection I think is why the fans are so tiny and whiny -- like... if they had used components for a 17" laptop, they could have fit a larger fan inside... but they didn't.4. It freezes sometimes -- for no reason -- nothing in the Event log that I can find... -- In my experience this is typical of AMD -- but yeah, just sometimes the screen goes black, and it's just frozen. Never had this kind of issue on an Intel system, but AMD seems to be "sometimes they just freeze lol".5. The resolution kind of sucks. I didn't think I'd mind going back to 1080p, but whatever, it's usable. Refresh rate of 60Hz is fine, but 1440 would have been nicer... And the screen construction is kind of flimsy, just typing vigorously makes it flap a bit...6. The BIOS is accessible, but there's not really many options, it's like "Turn on and off certain USB ports" and "Turn on/off Virtualization", and that's it really. Would love to see more things in here, including like, if numlock should be on at boot, fan curve profiles, etc.7. The keyboard layout is crappy. -- I love a laptop with a NUMPAD, my 15" laptop has one -- they are awesome. -- But this one, they didn't put any spacing between the keys or nubs or anything, and like... it's really easy to be a key or two off when text editing, and it messes everything up. Maybe I'll get used to it over time, but I would have rather had slightly smaller keys, and some spacing (like an extra 1 or 2 mm) between the arrows and the numpad. -- Also some of the FN keys make no sense, like one of the keys is just a copy of the print screen key, and another just turns the monitor blank... even with no external display hooked up? -- So like... what's the point of that...? The icon on it is like what you would expect to disable to touchpad (it even has the little segments at the bottom like the old style touchpad) -- on every other laptop I've seen this button disables the touchpad... but on Nimo, it disables the screen... for why?Again, overall it's not a terrible laptop, all of these are things I can get over... but at this price point, I would expect to see more quality in the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, stable and silent.
By Eric L. Fox
I haven't thought much about this computer. I have no adware to fight with. I pick it up and it does anything I ask of it (currently I have 22 tabs open in Chrome, Inkscape, Solitaire, Edge with a couple of tabs open and Autodesk 3D Fusion and it sounds like one of my tabs is playing a video). Usually I don't switch applications while I'm rendering graphics or video, but with this machine I can have two separate applications doing old fashioned real raytracing at the same time without much of a slowdown. It's quiet as heck, even under load. I love this machine. I haven't even thought about running benchmarks on it...it's pretty much as fast as I need a machine to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual graphics card in this laptop, and is it suitable for gaming?
This laptop uses an integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics processor. While it can handle many modern games at lower to medium settings, it is not a dedicated, high-power gaming GPU. The 'VR Ready' and 'Gaming-Laptop' marketing terms refer to the powerful Ryzen 9 CPU, but for demanding AAA gaming, you would typically need a laptop with a separate, more powerful graphics card.
How does the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor compare to an Intel i9?
Based on the provided specifications, the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS in this laptop has a maximum boost clock speed of 5.2 GHz and contains 8 cores. The marketing claims it 'beats' the Intel Core i9-13900H. This suggests it offers comparable or superior multi-threaded performance for tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, and heavy multitasking, often at a lower power consumption typical of AMD's HS-series mobile processors.
Can I charge this laptop with a standard USB-C charger?
Yes, the laptop supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) charging up to 100W. This means you can use compatible third-party USB-C chargers and power banks to charge it, offering more flexibility than a proprietary charger, especially for travel. The included charger is a 100W PD fast charger.
What are the physical dimensions and weight of this 17.3-inch laptop?
The laptop measures 15.66 inches wide by 9.99 inches deep by 0.74 inches thick and weighs 3.84 pounds. For a 17.3-inch display, this is a relatively slim and portable design, making it easier to transport than many other large-screen laptops.
What specific security and connectivity features does it have?
It includes a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for Windows Hello login and a physical webcam privacy switch to disable the 2MP camera. For connectivity, it has one USB-C 4.0 port (supporting data, display output, and 100W charging), three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac).

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and Reliable!!

I recently bought the ACEMAGIC RX16 laptop and I’ve been really happy with it so far. It’s fast, super responsive, and handles everything I throw at it browsing, work tasks, and even gaming with no lag. As a gamer, I was surprised by how well it runs games, especially for a laptop with integrated graphics. The 16" screen is clear and vibrant, and the high refresh rate makes gameplay feel smooth. I also work in cybersecurity, and this laptop handles my tools, VMs, and scripts without any slowdown. The dual-fan cooling system does a great job keeping things cool during heavy use, and the backlit keyboard is a nice bonus for working at night. Overall, it's a solid choice for both performance and value, and I’d definitely recommend it for students, gamers, or professionals alike

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING ! ! !

So, in the past I have bought computers based more on price than features. I ended up with units that were 2 or more generations old before I opened the box. This time I bought based on specs first and price second. WOW !Incredibly fast to both retrieve and process data. (I don't do on-line games . . .) Wire sharp, photographic quality display. Lighted keys. O.k., it's missing a fingerprint reader. Boo Hoo ! Great specs, great speed and a pretty good price. What's not to like?
