5.0 out of 5 stars Quality and 2 year warranty.
By DG
The Ryzen 5 with 32gb of ddr4 ram is great. The 1TB ssd is fast as well. It ran all updates without any problems. I have never had any trouble with CPU or GPU power. You have 90 days to decide you don’t like it. For less than $400 what’s not to like. I recently added a micro SD card so I can make a photo library to take to get developed. Even that is fast. You get a metal frame, finger print sensor, what I consider to be a great quality screen that has good viewing angles. It comes with a 2 year warranty and excellent customer service. I should have bought a second one before the price of memory went up, but it is still worth another $100- $150 more. The only minor features I would like improved are the back lit keys time out to quickly and the battery is average. You still get at least 5 hours battery life and it uses a C input so it is easy to find a charger. I type slowly and wish the backlit keyboard had an adjustment. I did some research and you can’t increase the time limit. I suppose it is inspiration for me to become a touch typist. The keyboard feels great and I believe the touch pad is good. The metal frame is solid and with the thin bezels makes this a compact computer. It isn’t noisy and it can utilize rapid charging with a 65W charger. I use the 25W most of the time because I believe it is better for the battery life. I played a graphic intense game off the the Microsoft store and it was smooth. It’s a 60hz screen, so not for hardcore gaming, but it is capable of running mid range graphics. It doesn’t have a bunch of clutter, so I haven’t had to remove anything. It has a neat little camera block so you feel a sense of privacy. It hasn’t slowed down at all and I installed a lot of updates. The Bluetooth picks up and syncs quickly. I found other name brand laptops with the same specs for a lot more and they always have a ton of bloatware. I never heard of Nimo, but they put the laptop together in the US, so you are helping the economy and you don’t have to send the computer far if it needs repairs. The company even warned me about the looming price increase for memory, so I had a chance to get one under $400 for a family member. I wish I had, but they still have one with 16gb ddr4 ram for the same price and it can be upgraded. There is a model with a Ryzen 7 and 16 gb ddr5 ram for more intense gaming. I intend on getting a higher end laptop from Nimo and giving this one to a family member, but I am not in a hurry. I want to get a hobby and higher end gaming may be one I take up. This one will probably play them, but it isn’t built for that and the frame rate would be poor.I plan on putting an emulator for a few consoles and the reviews are good for playing some great games. Minecraft plays very smooth. I am sure it gets somewhere between 50 and 60 gps. This computer has never locked up/ froze and I have left a couple dozen apps and pages open so that 32gb of ram really works well. I am making this laptop my go to for everything and going to teach myself how to type with it. The keyboard is that good. No creaking plastic frame. I do wish it had a little more battery life, but you can charge it with a 65watt charger and get fast charging speeds. A friend is considering buying one from Nimo with a higher end CPU and GPU, but putting in his own memory later when prices come down. I saw a model for under $300 that has a N100 chip, 256 ssd, 8 gb ddr4 for less than $300. It is capable of using all sorts of memory and the company can help you out with choosing right. My laptop is maxed out and has dual channel memory. I really lucked out on the price. I always have liked AMD. My laptop does not get hot and it is as fast as a newer I5 processor. Bottom line is the quality is 5 stars, warranty 5 stars and you have 90 days to return it no questions. By the way it doesn’t have a scratch on it. The painted metal is awesome. I turn it on rest my finger in the sensor and it is booted up fast. If you already have a laptop, but want a better screen or C inputs check the ram because you may be able to buy a bare bones Nimo and transfer your memory. You have tech support and physical shops here in the US, so keep that in mind. I am sure they would help you build your ideal laptop as long as you follow their directions. I should have bought a couple loaded models when they gave me the heads-up. I hope this company grows into a well known name and builds more factories in the US. I want the US and China to share superpower status because there is room for everyone. We need more factories to be built so that we can sustain ourselves and be less dependent on other tech companies outside the US. Nimo is a perfect example of a quality laptop company stateside. They offer all different CPUs and GPUs with the same upper mid level chassis and screens. The internet speeds are better than my mini pc, and there is no bloatware so it is perfect. If you are broke, but need a computer you can get a good choice with almost no memory and build it up when you have the money. I think I just wrote a short story. Bottom line is quality, warranty, price and built domestically. Go buy one and try it out. You can send it back if you aren’t satisfied. Just ask questions before buying because they will help you choose a good fit. You can buy direct and get a custom built laptop and as time passes you can upgrade. Ram prices will come back down. SSD prices will as well. The market is bad for building right now because of the centers for AI buying up all the memory. I don’t get paid by Nimo for this review. This is the first laptop I have been able to feel 100% satisfied. You can adjust the settings to get longer battery life and the backlit keyboard stays on long enough for the average typist. That is really my only gripe and once I learn to touch type it will not be a factor. I don’t believe there is a way to increase the length of backlighting. I saw comments and Nimo is unable to increase the limit. Still a 5 star laptop. Remember 90 days no questions and 2 years of warranty. If you like my review please like it. Feel free to comment. Remember these are upgradable, so focus on the CPU/GPU that will work best for you and get at least 16gb of ram. 8gb will be a waste later unless you have the memory already. 32gb gives you dual channel benefits and you’ll be set for the next 3 or 4 years.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
