5.0 out of 5 stars Great first impressions, big screen and fast performance!
By Yana
I just got this 17.3-inch laptop two days ago, and so far I’m really happy with it! The big screen looks super clear and bright, and it feels great for watching videos and doing some work. It runs fast and smooth, the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD definitely make a difference. The design is slim and lightweight for the size, and I love the backlit keyboard. Battery life seems strong too; I’ve used it for a few hours without charging. It also has lots of useful ports, including USB-C and HDMI, which is very convenient. It came ready to use right out of the box with Windows 11 installed, and setup was super easy. Overall, first impressions are great. it feels like a solid laptop for both work and everyday use!

4.0 out of 5 stars For what it is, it works good
By D.hogan
So this is no where close to most mainstream laptops these days. The processor is relatively new and power efficient, but at the same time it performs ever slightly above standard laptop CPUs from about 6-8 years ago...so keep that in mind. This has a slightly better performance then a Chromebook in essence. But it is x86 architecture, so it will run all standard windows OS and programs. Comes loaded with windows 11, and can get office software installed as well. The 16GB of RAM is great especially in this RAM crunch we're going through at the end of 2025/beginning of 2026...Ended up gifting this to a family member that really doesn't do much that requires horsepower in a laptop. It works just fine for them. The one thing I don't like (subtracted a star), is why on earth in 2025/2026 are we making any laptops with barrel plugs...they should all have usb-c charging, no questions asked. EVEN if it's just for power input, doesn't even have to be a functional communication port. The charger is an all-in-one brick plug, and the cable length is quite short. So plan to need an extension cord (or sit very close to a plug to use while plugged in.Not a ton of connectivity either. A couple of USB-A ports and headphone jack. But again, for a basic user this basic connectivity is fine. The touchpad is annoying as well. not very responsive and mouse moves a lot when just trying to click.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
