5.0 out of 5 stars Buy with confidence. Customer service is amazing
By Brendan H.
UPDATE: After over a year, it's still going strong. Have had zero issues with the computer and it's still just as fast as the day I bought it. Ended up using it way more than I intended to and it's travelled all over the country. Again, no issues. When I go to purchase another (my wife really wants one now), I'll be buying through these guys. The item I bought was a "renewed" item and as such I was a little leary. Turned out that the only issue I had was the wrong charger being packaged with it. Customer service called me within MINUTES of me sending them an email and had a solution ready that fixed my issue the same day and follow on support if that didn't work. You can't buy good customer service like that anymore. Will definitely be purchasing future items from this seller. As for the device.. It is exactly as described and seems to be performing flawlessly despite "only" having 2 processor cores. I don't use my laptops intensively but I do like to multitask and this thing is crushing it already. So far great product. I'll try to remember to update this in a year.

3.0 out of 5 stars Keys don’t work as well
By Samantha
I revived the product and so far it looks good. A bit slow but it seems okay. The only thing is that quite a couple of the keypads are sometimes stuck and slow to type. It’s more stiff and the keys make a cracking sound.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual processor model and speed in this renewed Surface Book 2?
It uses a 7th generation Intel Dual Core i5 processor with a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz.
How does the detachable screen work, and what are the different modes mentioned?
The screen detaches from the keyboard base to become a standalone tablet. The four modes are Laptop, Tablet, Studio (screen reversed and reattached for drawing), and View (screen detached but laid flat over the keyboard).
What type of USB-C port does this model have, and can it charge the device?
It has one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port that supports USB Power Delivery revision 3.0, so yes, it can be used to charge the laptop.
Is the graphics performance suitable for video editing or light gaming as described?
It uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 620, not a dedicated NVIDIA GPU as the marketing copy might imply. This is sufficient for basic video editing and very light gaming, but not for demanding 3D design or modern games.
What does 'Renewed' mean for this specific laptop, and what operating system is installed?
This is a professionally inspected and tested used product, sold by Amazon Renewed. It comes with Windows 10 Professional 64-bit Edition pre-installed.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
