5.0 out of 5 stars Better, Lighter, Upgradeable, Windows Version of a MacBook
By Sameen Ali
Yo this is fireeee. IMO, it’s the best Windows version of a MacBook that you can upgrade and has better performance per acoustics. I upgraded the RAM to 16 GB and added a 1 TB Crucial P1 NVMe Drive as my boot drive for increased speed and storage; although the included 256 SATA Drive is pretty snappy. Like on battery, it’s dead silent and has a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. As a uni student, I get 6-8 hrs on high-performance mode and 8-10 hrs on moderate power savings mode. The screen is plenty bright and the touch screen is very responsive. Trackpad has great build quality, solid tactile feedback, and good gestures with Windows Precision drivers. I appreciate the small rubber feet that elevate the laptop so typing is easier on my wrists and so that the bottom of the laptop has some airflow (albeit no intake fan on the bottom, just a plain sheet of metal alloy). The only two fans are at the front of the laptop (I.e. under the screen). They can get loud when the 8th gen i7 boosts to 4.6 GHz max but on battery low-performance setting, it may dip below 1.8 GHz base clock. Good selection of ports for my use and even includes a full fat Thunderbolt 3 port (display, data transfer, eGPU, charging). If you’re like me and used to 15.6” laptops, then this won’t feel as small as you think. It’s hardly noticeable now that I’ve had it for a few weeks. The biggest pro for this device is the weight. It’s shockingly light and almost compares to my iPhone 8 Plus. I would recommend getting a hardshell waterproof case to protect this little guy.Edit 14 months later: this laptop was in a hardshell case resistant to water and drops when it withstood a 120 mph car accident and walking with it in the rain. There are a few dents in the body of the laptop but the internals work just as well as before the crash (according to benchmarks and daily use). I forgot to mention that even after installing multiple programs and saturating the included 256 GB drive, the laptop still boots very fast (4-5 s).

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet spot for students
By Amber
Let me just start by saying this is my third laptop. I've had two terrible experience with laptops of different brands. This was my last ditch effort to get a laptop I could use for college and I wish I would have gone for it sooner!Initial impression is WOW is this thing light. I think it's hard to realize just how light it is until you hold it. That was a huge selling point for me. I don't have room to lug around an absolute unit of a laptop. I wanted something I could throw in my bag and forget. The next pro was it's battery life. I swear this thing can do an entire's day work and still have battery left over to do whatever else you might want to. Not being tied to an outlet is super important when I'm using this laptop on the go (which is the primary use in my case). I love not having to worry about finding a spot next to a plug in.I really enjoy the white, but if you're someone who worries it may get dirty, maybe go for the grey/silver model. I'm incredibly meticulous with my electronics so it doesn't bother me and I much prefer the white. But I can see how accidental stains or marks could happen. When I was doing research for laptops, a lot of reviews commented that this laptop didn't have the brightest screen. I don't feel that's true. I think the screen is decently bright. Perhaps you might have trouble with it in direct sunlight outdoors, but for indoor use, I think it's just fine. It seems like a lot of laptops these days have the adaptive lighting feature, so it is what it is.The keyboard is a pleasure to type on if you like a softer, non-click(y) laptop keyboard. This is my preferred style of keyboard and was a huge worry since I was unable to look at this laptop in store prior to buying. It has two backlit levels and it's nice to have the options. The trackpad is pretty nice! It's responsive/accurate. It might not be as buttery smooth as some higher end laptops, but it's not a bad trackpad by any means. The screen has quite a bit of flex, but that's to be expected because of the intention to have an incredibly light body. I don't feel like I'll have any issues but again, I'm pretty careful with my electronics. I certainly wouldn't pile a load of books ontop of the shell. The despite being flexible, I don't find the screen to be wobbly when typing, so that's a pleasant surprise. I feel like the 14' is a nice middle ground. Not huge, but decent. There are enough ports for my use, so I have nothing negative to say about that. Although it was an odd choice to place the speakers on the bottom of the unit. It does muffle the sound a bit, but you can certainly crank the volume up to override this. I mostly use headphones anyhow.I haven't tried running any games on this laptop--mainly because I have a desktop which I built for that purpose. I think for someone looking to do serious gaming, this may not be the best choice. Otherwise, it's incredibly fast and is able to handle my tendency to open a million tabs when web browsing. It never seemed to run incredibly hot, so no uncomfortable shifting of the computer!TLDR:Pros:Lightweight/portableFastDecent keyboard and trackpadGood assortment of portsEasy to set upCons:Speaker placementMaybe not good for gamersA tad bit pricey for the specsConclusion: this is a great laptop if you're a student looking to do web browsing, light photo/video editing, word processing, and video watching. This isn't a $2K MacBook but it is a little bit pricey for the specs offered. But if you don't mind the price tag, I think it's worth it to have a reliable, quick laptop.
