4.0 out of 5 stars Solid laptop overall but a few weird design decisions leave it wanting just a bit.
By Bob McIntosh
Overall this laptop is solid. It runs fast, the touch screen is very responsive, it's very light and thin.I only have 2 complaints about it.1. The camera is located at the bottom of the screen making it completely useless. Not only is it now filming up my nose, but if I want to use my laptop at the same time all anyone sees is my fingers typing. In addition, the quality of the video it shoots is very poor. Expect that if you need to do any video you'll have to buy an external camera2. The Home, End, Page up and Page down are not their own keys. You have to either hit function and then use the arrow keys for that, or you have to turn the num lock off (rending it useless as a number pad) and then you can use them there. I used these keys all the time so I have found that very frustrating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased So Far
By dbl
Have had this for about a week now, and so far, this is a great laptop. First, consistent with some of the Questions/Answers on this page, and despite Amazon's product title, mine did come with 16GB of RAM, as I was expecting. This is consistent with LG's website for this model, as well, so I don't think anyone needs to worry about getting only 8GB.Also, in some reviews of other models (last year's?) of the LG Gram, I noticed people complaining about the quality of the keyboard and/or an overall "cheap feel" in terms of the build quality. I have no complaints on either with this model. The material they used for the case (magnesium alloy?) does not feel cheap to me. It does feel very light, which is awesome and is one of the major selling points of this product for me. The keyboard is great, and does not feel like a compromise in quality, to me. The numeric keypad on the right side was another selling point for me. It is smaller than a true "full" numeric keypad, but it's functional and fits this middle niche perfectly for users, like me, who tend to work with spreadsheets or other numeric data entry but want a machine that's ultra-portable, rather than carrying around some 7 to 8 lb boat anchor of a laptop.I would say that the screen, even at the highest brightness setting, is not as bright as my previous (mostly Dell) laptops. This has not been an issue for me, so far, as I tend to drop my screen brightness on most of my machines, to maximize battery life, but perhaps this would be a downside for some, if you tend to use your laptop outdoors, in full sun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the listing mention an 8TB SSD when the specs show 1TB?
The title includes '8 TB SSD' as a general model identifier, but this specific configuration, as confirmed in the product details and specs, comes with a 1 TB Solid State Drive (SSD). The seller may offer other storage variants, but the unit described here has 1TB.
What does 'Copilot+PC' mean for this laptop?
Copilot+PC is a Microsoft designation for PCs with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of at least 40 TOPS for AI tasks. This LG Gram qualifies because its Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor includes an NPU with 47 TOPS, enabling advanced AI features directly on the device for an enhanced Windows Copilot experience.
Is the RAM soldered or upgradeable?
The RAM is not user-upgradeable. It uses LPDDR5X memory soldered onto the motherboard, running at 8533 MHz. This specific configuration comes with 32 GB of this high-speed, low-power memory pre-installed.
What are the exact video output capabilities of the USB-C ports?
The two USB4 Gen3x2 Type-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort. This means each port can drive an external display, and with support for Power Delivery, they can also charge the laptop. The laptop also has a standard HDMI port for additional display connectivity.
How does the listed weight of 3.22 pounds compare to the product detail stating 3.12 pounds?
There is a minor discrepancy in the provided data. The main description lists the weight as 3.22 pounds, while the product details table states 3.12 pounds. For precise shipping or handling needs, it is recommended to verify the final weight with the seller, but the laptop is designed to be exceptionally lightweight for its 17-inch size, in the 3.1-3.2 pound range.
