Frequently Asked Questions
What specific AI features does the Intel Ultra 9 processor and NPU enable for Copilot+?
The Intel Ultra 9 288V processor includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) designed to accelerate AI tasks directly on the laptop. This hardware enables Windows 11 Pro Copilot+ features like real-time live translations, Recall for finding past activity, and Cocreator for image generation without relying on cloud processing.
Can the storage be expanded beyond the included 1 TB SSD?
Yes, the laptop supports storage expansion up to 8 TB total SSD capacity. The product description notes the original seal may be opened for upgrades, indicating the 1 TB SSD can be replaced or supplemented to reach the advertised maximum.
What is the actual weight and thickness of this 17-inch laptop?
The laptop measures 0.74 inches thick and weighs 3.22 pounds (approximately 1.46 kg), with dimensions of 14.91 x 10.19 x 0.74 inches. This makes it notably lightweight for a 17-inch model with these specifications.
What ports are available for connecting peripherals and external displays?
It includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C), two USB-A 3.2 ports, one HDMI 2.1 port, and a combined headphone/microphone jack. The Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 ports support connecting high-resolution external monitors.
Is the 17-inch display suitable for outdoor or bright room use?
The 17-inch WQXGA (2560x1600) LCD has an anti-glare surface and a brightness of 320 nits, which helps reduce reflections. Combined with the matte finish, this improves visibility in well-lit environments compared to glossy screens, though direct sunlight may still present challenges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good So Far!
I heard mixed reviews on this. I took a chance and it's only been 2 weeks, but so far so good. The Alienware software takes about 10 to 20 seconds to load when first opening it. after that 5-10. The back end got flack for being too big. But Who is really carrying around a 16 inch gaming laptop. Keys feel great. RGB is good. Keys are clear and not blinding like most RGB backlits. Design is good imo. feels premium. Cam is decent. Touch pad is smooth. Display is nice, all text is clear and colors are good. I heard many people complaining about the brightness levels. But in a dark room I actually turn the brightness down. And in my home with normal outdoor light coming in, I have no issues with the brightness. 2 usb 2 usb c, this is the only downside. in my opinion. I wish there was one more. I do like there are no cables coming from the sides. All ports in back. Cleaner desk look. will update if I have any issues.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this laptop!!!
This laptop is a GIANT waste of money. It didn't last for 2 weeks before the system stopped charging itself and shut down. I had to return it without being able to remove my data. I am VERY disappointed with this product and purchase.
