5.0 out of 5 stars Truly impressive laptop, great performance and insanely lightweight
By Dardhel
To be upfront, I am not a heavy AI user but I liked the specs of this one from the get-go. So first and foremost, the weight or lack thereof is insane, my gaming laptop is probably 3x as heavy, this one feels like a feather. It is so easy to carry around I feel like I have a tablet. The screen is outstanding, super-clear, and vibrant. I have used it to watch videos, do some minor photo editing and have let me kid play minecraft and roblox which both play as smooth as my gaming laptop with outstanding quality.Performance wise, this one hums. It boots up in seconds, doesn't struggle to run anything I have tried on it and well not sure what else to say, I have not found anything yet it struggles with though I haven't played any super modern intense games (it doesn't have a dedicated Nvideo or AMD graphics card). Finally, battery life is exceptional, it is advertised to do something like 20 hours or more and that might be true. I haven't tried to use it that long and normally keep it plugged in at home. It has lasted for the entire day for the couple times I have taken it on a trip/vacation though I only used it off and on throuhgout the day and had it plugged in at night.Bottomline, and I know this is a pricey laptop but if you are looking for performance and portability (outside of AAA games) this is the laptop for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great screen, lightweight, sips power
By In My Opinion
I have used this for the past 5 or so months and really like it. I used it all summer and fall for weekend trips and other traveling and the light weight at around 3 lbs was noticed vs the prior laptop. It came with a regular power brick, but I swapped it out for one of those smaller, plug-in ones that had additional ports where I could charge my phone and other devices. The laptop prefers 100W+, but works fine with 67W. The screen is huge at 17" and I don't know what the 2560x1600 resolution is labeled, but it is great and useful. This also uses little power, and there is minimal drain in sleep mode. I opened i after two weeks and there was still a good charge.I cannot speak about the AI or using it for gaming, but for my needs it was perfect. The Ultra 7 is more than fast enough for what I do. I mostly used for email, documents, conference calls and the occasional streaming. The large screen also came in handy when I connected remotely to other machines, with the large resolution I had no issues mirroring my other systems. There only drawback I could see is the 16GB of ram vs the 32GB on the Ultra 9 version. Also, there is an oddity, at least in what I have seen, in that the drive is split into two 1GB partitions instead of one large 2GB partition. Probably some decision based upon recovery, and it really doesn't matter as I have used minimal space.Personally I have issues with the touchpad, but that is a me problem so I always carry a mouse.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 'Copilot+ PC' designation mean for this specific LG gram model?
This laptop is certified as a Copilot+ PC, which indicates it meets Microsoft's hardware requirements for advanced AI features in Windows 11. It includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) within its Intel Core Ultra 9 processor to efficiently handle on-device AI tasks alongside cloud-based AI services like gram chat Cloud.
How does the claimed 28.5-hour battery life translate to real-world use?
The 28.5-hour rating is based on LG's internal testing for continuous video playback under specific conditions: wireless off, 150 nits screen brightness, and using local video files. Actual battery life for typical mixed use involving web browsing, productivity apps, and variable connectivity will be lower, as noted by LG's disclaimer that performance varies with usage and network conditions.
What are the practical benefits of the 'gram chat On-Device' and 'gram chat Cloud' AI features?
gram chat On-Device handles local system tasks like searching your hard drive or adjusting settings without an internet connection. gram chat Cloud provides generative AI for creating documents, analyzing data, or managing schedules, but requires an internet connection and is a free service only for the first year after registration, after which it becomes a paid subscription.
What is the significance of the laptop passing 'seven MIL-STD 810H tests'?
An independent lab tested this specific model against select U.S. military standards for durability, including procedures for low pressure (altitude), high and low temperature operation/storage, and vibration. This suggests resilience for travel, but LG notes the tests were performed in a controlled environment and real-world conditions may yield different results.
Can you clarify the graphics performance and memory configuration?
This model uses integrated Intel Arc graphics. The listed 'Graphics Card Ram Size' of 32 GB refers to the system's shared memory, not dedicated VRAM. The laptop has 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 8533 MHz, which the integrated graphics can dynamically utilize, but it does not have a separate, discrete graphics card with its own dedicated memory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good So Far!

I heard mixed reviews on this. I took a chance and it's only been 2 weeks, but so far so good. The Alienware software takes about 10 to 20 seconds to load when first opening it. after that 5-10. The back end got flack for being too big. But Who is really carrying around a 16 inch gaming laptop. Keys feel great. RGB is good. Keys are clear and not blinding like most RGB backlits. Design is good imo. feels premium. Cam is decent. Touch pad is smooth. Display is nice, all text is clear and colors are good. I heard many people complaining about the brightness levels. But in a dark room I actually turn the brightness down. And in my home with normal outdoor light coming in, I have no issues with the brightness. 2 usb 2 usb c, this is the only downside. in my opinion. I wish there was one more. I do like there are no cables coming from the sides. All ports in back. Cleaner desk look. will update if I have any issues.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this laptop!!!

This laptop is a GIANT waste of money. It didn't last for 2 weeks before the system stopped charging itself and shut down. I had to return it without being able to remove my data. I am VERY disappointed with this product and purchase.
