1.0 out of 5 stars Upgrading SSD is EXTREMELY CHALLENGING
By A. Zaparov
I will never ever buy any Lenovo laptop ever again. I boycotted two brands for my 20+ years of tech experience. I had no regrets. This is going to be the third. Today, in the middle of the 3rd decade of the 21st century upgrading ssd or adding memory supposed to be easier than anything. But not with Lenovo brand. It takes special tools and even screws are not the same size. It is a giant pain and limits me, as a consumer in the usage of the product I paid for. Obviously I figured the way, but I will never buy Lenovo laptop again (at least until they advertise how EASY to replace the cheap windows ssd it comes with.) SHAME ON LENOVO.Another con is a required internet connection right at the first start (this is one of the reasons I will never use windows 10-11. They spy on you.) Lenovo, just like any other brand has a certain type of licence of the operating system they pre install on their products. They could have changed that - what if I want this laptop for my "secret documents" only? I don't want it to get online. It works fine with Mint on the new nvme. So, one star is all it deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard worker
By Debbie
Use this for school (I’m a teacher), graduate work, and personal projects. It’s big but that’s exactly what I wanted. Love the touch screen. Not sure this is your laptop if you want to commute w it. Check weight and size.

No, this laptop does not include a built-in DVD/CD drive. This is noted twice in the description to emphasize the omission for its thin, compact form factor.

What is the actual installed operating system, Windows 10 or Windows 11?

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
