Normal-sized games run smoothly without any lag, making it a great choice for casual and mid-tier gaming. I got this while there was a major sale - $380 - to primarily use as a gaming laptop, but also just to update my PC because I’m tired of writing from an iPad. I’m so-so on this laptop, honestly if I had spent more than $500 I’m not sure I’d feel quite the same.What I like (in no particular order):- set up was quite easy- very lightweight- quick download times- I like how the keyboard feels, I’m normally not a fan of in-built keyboards on non-Apple products (I’m biased) but this one I quite like.What I don’t like (in no particular order):- it handles gaming so-so. Civ VII had some major lag even on the lowest graphic settings, and game load times for even something like Banished was pretty long. For gaming purposes, I wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking into serious gaming. Granted, the only games I’ve played on it so far have been Civ VII, Banished, and Timberborn.- the laptop charger; the one that I got was 2ft long - WHY are chargers either too long or too short - the spot the charger goes into is on the left side, which is really inconvenient for me - if the charger was longer than 2 ft this wouldn’t be a problem for me. My husband and I spent a good thirty minutes trying to find an alternate charger because the voltage on this is not standard with the name brands.Neutral things -- laptop does get warm when playing games, almost to be expected, so I would recommend getting a cooling fan or something like that. The one I got has been doing a decent job keeping it cool.- shipping - this took about 2.5 weeks to arrive; not a major thing, if I wanted a laptop right away I would’ve triple checked it was next day delivery or just gone to Best Buy and bought one in-person- I am not a fan of the track pad, but this is probably a me thing. I am just biased and I’ve never liked a track pad unless it was on a Mac, so this doesn’t affect my rating at all.So yeah, while I’m not sure if this will be handle the games I want is a big downer - and the whole reason I purchased this to begin with - but at the price I paid, I’m not gonna complain all that much. It plays them fine enough.
