5.0 out of 5 stars You must purchase Microsoft 365, in addition to this computer, after 12 Months
By William Moss
Maybe everyone knows this but me. You only get Microsoft 365 as a 12 month trial. After that, this machine has no ability to even write and save words. If you want to continue to use it after 12 months you'll have to pay Microsoft $7/month forever or lose Microsoft 365.The seller and Microsoft will tell you the solution is to go to a limited capability, web version of Microsoft software, but if you have to do that you're better off with a cheap, faster Chromebook not loaded down with preinstalled, subscription only software. You can also fix this computer by installing free software to make it work, like Open Office but then you'll need java, blah, blah. Otherwise, expect to pay. This computer comes with no software that you own except the windows 11 framework. If you give in, and settle for the free, limited capability, web based version of Office, you'll need an internet connection and it's performance will depend on your internet speed, and it's not secure if you're working from a cafe, etc. Again, a Chromebook would do this better, for half the price. My solution was to install Open Office and Java and then uninstall all the Microsoft, subscription only apps, but it took me half a day to do all that. If I had to do it again I would shop for a laptop that actually included Microsoft office or 365, or just get a Chromebook.

1.0 out of 5 stars BUYERS BEWARE!!!
By Sowal Beach
This seller is peddling garbage. Brand new laptop won’t turn on or take a charge less than 2 months after purchase. Hasn’t done anything aside from sit on my nights stand apart from the few times I’ve used it. I’ve owned quite a few laptops and never had one bite the dust this quickly, not even close. “Brand new” batteries don’t degrade that fast. Period. Seller says “sorry to hear it”. YOUVE BEEN WARNED.Update: Laptop is now completely trash. Certain keys began to sporadically stop working and now it won’t take a charge at all. Transactions like this are the reason I’ll never buy another computer or piece of tech from Amazon. People can just screw you and there’s no recourse. Awful transaction start to finish.Update: Purchased a Dell from Best Buy for about a hundred dollars more than I spent on this one. Two months of use and it works perfectly, plus I have the peace of mind knowing that because I purchased the extended protection I can take it in should any problems arise. I should’ve done this from the beginning and I recommend that anyone who reads this do the same.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
