5.0 out of 5 stars Great Computer
By Gezellige_Poes
Highly recommend this HP laptop from PCOnline! Background: So Windows 10 is nearing end of life and my HP laptop from 2015 cannot support Windows 11 (no surprise there). Additionally, the 2015 laptop has been experiencing poor response despite my best efforts to improve and sanitize, sluggishness and locking up as the main culprits. At some point old technology can no longer keep pace with new technology! I started researching the latest and greatest, and entered a maddening world of new technologies and associated acronyms. I have always been an HP fan and did not search on any other computer brands. I basically covered the Internet, scoured Amazon from front to back, and reached out directly to HP, to help me understand the new technologies and to decide on everything I would need for personal computer use. And, of course who doesn't like a good deal? Well the price points were directly related to entirety of the computer build, or those retailers looking to make extra, or wildly fluctuating prices, literally at times from hour to hour!My requirements:- The physical: Large laptop, at least 17", backlit keyboard w soft touch, crisp/clear display, rose gold. Result: Perfect! This laptop does have touchscreen, which I will likely never use.- The build: Windows 11, ample storage and memory to ensure peak performance and fast response, non-gaming, non-video editing or no need for any other seriously advanced functionality, good battery life. Result: Perfect, very smooth and fast response, and should I ever need more advanced functionality, this laptop will deliver! The laptop was easy to set up as well.- Nice to have: If you add the cost of these "Nice to Have's" you will still be ahead as the price of this laptop at the time I purchased it gave me ample wiggle room to later add Microsoft Office or an external drive. Some Nice-to-have are already included.* Microsoft Office Lifetime: Researching the Microsoft Office Lifetime, I discovered this mostly means 365 Office. 365 Office is relatively new and is subscription based access. For those computers here on Amazon that state Microsoft Lifetime License in the title, be sure to read the additional details, esp. if you are looking for Microsoft Office 2021. I have since discovered that you can find this separately here on Amazon, or for cheaper elsewhere, like from HP-direct.* DVD player: For the DVD slot I have always had that is now apparently no longer built-in, there are many option available for external drives. HP-direct sells a reasonably priced one, and many here on Amazon.* Webcam, FP Reader, HDMI, Wi-Fi 6: This laptop has all these features, and do appear to be pretty standard inclusions across the board.- Warranty support: Access to HP and retailer support in case of issues or general help. While retailer is not part of the direct product review per se, for me, it is very crucial for product help/information/detail. Without this base covered, I would not have bought this laptop from PCOnline. I had questions prior to purchase and then found it cheaper, and my inquiries were promptly answered and I received near instantaneous price-match. If I have any issues whatsoever, I know I will have ready help in this retailer.

5.0 out of 5 stars fast computer, good deal!
By ken
This is a great deal for a fast reliable computer. I will share the one thing that I had to work hard to configure. The backlit keyboard (controlled by F4) ships with a factory timeout of 30 seconds. I found this to be a hassle, especially as I tend to keep the laptop plugged in, and I feel like I need the backlit keyboard. I did not know how to change the setting for this until I asked Copilot! Then I learned that I had to use a BIOS setting to set the timeout to "never". I could still turn it on/off, or set to various brightness levels with F4. The instructions were: Using my HP 2023 17t Business Professional, how do I set the backlit keyboard to stay on all the time?To set the backlit keyboard on your HP 2023 17t Business Professional to stay on all the time, follow these steps:Restart your laptop and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly until the BIOS setup opens.Navigate to the Advanced tab using the arrow keys.Go to Built-in Device Options and press Enter. The Enter key enables selection of item choices.Select Backlit Keyboard Timeout and press the spacebar to open the settings.Choose "Never" to keep the backlight on at all times. Thanks CoPilot! I do like the keyboard, and the fingerprint reader!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great computer! Speedy and sleek

This laptop is quick to set up and use, and it works seamlessly without lagging on games or apps that use lots of memory such as the Harry Potter game I play from steam. I am really satisfied with this purchase even though I was hesitant at first to buy a “no name brand” laptop

1.0 out of 5 stars Most likely came with malware

It worked decent for a little bit, its a low end laptop that will run basic games at minimum settings, however something is wrong with windows because it fully died within 2 weeks. Likely due to malware that came with the laptop and it wont go past bios now. First and last time buying a no name electronic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review is for 18..5 inch model; not 15.7; good value for 18.5 model

I purchased two 18.5 inch model AX18, and it looks like my review is tied to a 15.6 inch model instead, as though perhaps I purchased two at a lower price point than intended? The value was outstanding for $400..00. My review is for the 18.5 inch model which is 11 x 17 by about 1 inches in total size. The huge trackpad gets in the way a bit, but it does work and is sensitive. It can be disabled. The very large screen is beautiful and true to color, and great for movies, albeit with weak and tinny speakers. The camera is really grainy, you will use your Logitec one that is much better in low light. The case is kind of twisty plastic, and keyboard has a kind of flimsy feel to it. However, it functions just fine.It is really quite fast. I am playing around with typical office apps, big spreadsheets and so far looks great. I will eventually attempt image and video editing. hoping this keeps up. A slightly rickety, fast, wonderful display old fashioned computer. I do find myself absently touching the screen as I’ve been so “touch screen” for the past few months, and no this is not a touch screen laptop. The power supply and plug are annoyingly “non standard”. 19V 2.1a output, the sorta cheapie 57 inch power cord and odd connector are a bit worrisome.
