Great laptop for the price

It looks nice and it is supposed to be new but upon arrival, the screen would not turn on. The caps lock sits and flashes and after troubleshooting with HP, it has memory problems and requires us to send it to HP for repair. Since it was straight out of the box, I returned it to Amazon. I have been told that it was sold thru a third party and that party has to refund it. However it was received back by them and not refunded. I contacted Amazon about that and the first person raised the priority level to get a response from the seller. The seller responded saying that there are a lot of returns and the holidays so it all has slowed them down. I understand that I am not the only person needing something but the simple fact that the laptop was broken upon arrival and troubleshot with HP who gave the reason for it was needing repair tells me that it is a defective laptop and now that it is back in the hands of the seller, the refund should be promptly done. I had to go out and buy my college kid another laptop to replace this one so I am out the cost of two laptops until they get around to it. I don't think that is really fair and after asking Amazon about that the person said it would be refunded in 2 weeks or 5-7 days. The story has changed multiple times. To be honest, I would not buy from this seller and I will not buy another laptop from Amazon either.
