1.0 out of 5 stars I am sorry I bought this computer
By mykecusa
Ever since I bought a TRS80 computer in the 1970s, I have had many HP computers. Unfortunately this is the worst computer I have ever received, The setup was really easy and straight forward. HP gets an A+ for that. Fortunately I still have the HP 15t DY200 that works very well. The current purchase was to replace my first 17.3 HP laptop. It started having erratic behavior, similar to the ones this one is already demonstrating. Very frustrating. I will contact HP Support to see if they will help get it better, otherwise I will return it.Update:The HP Essential laptop seems to be an A+ laptop. The problem seemed to me to be the network adapter. It did not have HP Support Assistant installed, so I downloaded and installed it, which displayed everything working. So, I decided to try the WOWPC flash drive that came with this computer to see if restoring it would solve my problem. Unfortunately this did not work. The computer after installing Windows 11 stops on reboot "Let's connect your network", but offers no networks to connect to.If I can get Windows 11 installed and network connection, this might be a nice laptop. I have had a great deal of trouble and time spent. Unfortunately it is the worst new computer experience I have experience. I do not know why it did not setup perfectly like others buyers experienced.UPDATE:I located a RESET feature in the system of this computer. It worked far better than the WOWPC flash drive. A+ HP. The computer setup and ran very nicely from that point on.UPDATE:I was able to download my office and photo editing software, setup my printers, and install utilities I use. It went smoothly. Once my basic use was setup, I went and tried a video. NO SOUND. Another couple hours researching sound diagnosis. Bottom line, the computer informed me it could not find a sound output device.I then contacted HP Support at the number listed by Amazon. After an hour there, the representative told me that the HP comuter with the serial number I had was not the computer I was showing in my invoice. The HP computer as manufactured had 8 GB RAM, not 32 GB, and 256 GB SSD drive, not a 1 TB SSD. She conculded it was a changed computer and not covered under the HP warranty. What a downer. All that effort and I got nowhere. I again filed for a return/refund from Amazon.UPDATE:I received a refund. The Vendor gets an A+ too.

The package arrived when they said it would. Boxed like a new laptop and runs like one. I'm very pleased with the whole transaction.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great computer! Speedy and sleek

This laptop is quick to set up and use, and it works seamlessly without lagging on games or apps that use lots of memory such as the Harry Potter game I play from steam. I am really satisfied with this purchase even though I was hesitant at first to buy a “no name brand” laptop

1.0 out of 5 stars Most likely came with malware

It worked decent for a little bit, its a low end laptop that will run basic games at minimum settings, however something is wrong with windows because it fully died within 2 weeks. Likely due to malware that came with the laptop and it wont go past bios now. First and last time buying a no name electronic.
