I like Gigabyte's AORUS line. I have a home built system with AORUS mobo, case, and 1080 TI. I wanted a new system, and with the price of graphics card, I decided to get this laptop for the time being. The price is great. On paper, it looks like great specifications. A good i7 processor, a RTX 3080 mobile (although only half the memory of a full card, 32 GB of memory, Thunderbolt 4 with DP for the future, and an extra M.2 slot for expansion.Oddly, there is not a lot of bloatware. But the system relies heavily on the AORUS Control Center, which is a frustrating thing. First, your laptop will come on with a moving rainbow of colors across the keyboard. It is cool, the first couple of times. After awhile, you get tired of your hand sliding over as your eye tracks the colors on the already tight keyboard layout. So you go to AORUS Control Center to tell the RGB to remain Static. And it works. Then you reboot the computer and nothing you did previously mattered. There is no save in the Control Center, and you can create a new profile, which will stay visible after a reboot but will forgot what settings you put into the new profile nor can you make it the default profile.This may seem a minor quibble for a well stacked hardware system, except the AORUS Control Center is designed to get the maximum performance out of the system. It is what AORUS does for you besides just being a brand name for Gigabyte. But since the AORUS Control Center can't remember what you asked it to do, then you get only the stock capability of the hardware. That's not that bad, even at the 2021 holiday prices under $2k USD. It is just that you paid for AORUS not AERO nor generic Gigabyte.I give it 4 out of 5, mainly because it is conceivable Gigabyte solves the problem in the future. It exists on the KD RTX 3060 model as well as this YD RTX 3080 model. Others are noting the same frustration.

It lags trying to run phasmophobia and can barely run valorant... It is not a settings issue or update issue. It just randomly started doing this. It is not a virus either. I only play games on it, and I spent $2400 on it for it to do this. Refundable or replaceable? 2 thousand 4 hundred dollars. I saved everything I could to get a good laptop, and all this one does is stutter. Can't play anything I want to play on it...
