Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual processor model and how does its performance compare to the claim of beating an i5-1145G7?
The laptop uses a 13th Gen Intel Core i3-1305U processor with 5 total cores (1 Performance-core and 4 Efficient-cores) and 6 threads. While it is a newer generation, direct performance comparisons depend on specific workloads. The i3-1305U's hybrid architecture offers modern efficiency, but for sustained multi-core tasks, a previous-generation 4-core/8-thread i5 like the 1145G7 may perform differently. Review benchmark data for your specific applications.
Does the 120Hz display offer any benefit for general use given the integrated Intel UHD Graphics?
Yes. The 120Hz refresh rate makes on-screen motion, such as scrolling through documents, web pages, or moving windows, appear significantly smoother and more responsive compared to a standard 60Hz display. This benefit is independent of gaming performance and enhances the general user experience, though the integrated graphics will limit high-frame-rate gaming.
What are the specifics of the USB and video ports available?
For connectivity, it includes: 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-A port, 1 USB 2.0 Type-A port, and 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port (note: this is not Thunderbolt). For video output, there is one HDMI 1.4 port, which supports up to 4K resolution at 30Hz or 1080p at higher refresh rates. A wired Ethernet (RJ45) port is also included.
Is the RAM upgradeable or soldered, and what type of SSD does it use?
Based on the provided slot information, the system has one M.2 2230/2280 slot occupied by the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The 16GB of DDR4 RAM is likely soldered onto the motherboard, as no additional RAM slots are mentioned, making post-purchase upgrades difficult or impossible. The SSD uses the modern PCIe NVMe interface for fast storage speeds.
How does Windows 11 Pro differ from the standard Home edition included with this configuration?
Windows 11 Pro includes features targeted at business and advanced users, such as BitLocker device encryption for the SSD, Remote Desktop for hosting connections, Hyper-V for virtualization, and more granular controls for group policies and business network management. These are not available in Windows 11 Home.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
