5.0 out of 5 stars Defintely worth the price!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how much this laptop exceeded my expectations. First, it has very good HD color definition for modern games. HD Image quality looks as good on this laptop as on my much higher end Acer Nitro. There's definitely more lag when playing games than on a higher end computer, but I suspect it could be CPU/GPU throttling due to heat (I haven't verified that yet). It does not seem to run any warmer than my other laptops, but the fan kicks in more often when gaming. Games requiring more memory or flashier CPUs could struggle on it, but this is otherwise a pretty nice budget gaming rig. Sound quality of the onboard spearks is about what you'd expect of any laptop. It's acceptable for getting information across, but if you want richer sound, you'll want to use headphones or ear buds.Another nice feature, which is oddly contradicted by 'ask Rufus' and other reviewers is the keyboard backlighting. Yes, the keyboard has a white backlight. It unfortunately has no obvious software to enable/disable it, adjust the brightness or the time it stays active, but as a gamer, I was pleasantly surprised to see it had this after everyone else said it didn't.There are a very limited number of ports: only two USB A, one USB C, HDMI, headphone jack and card reader. NOTE: It does NOT come with an ethernet port. However, it's type C connector is a "Thunderbolt 3" with significantly better speed and flexibility than a standard C connector , so I resolved both issues with a $16 USB C to Ethernet adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YWTTP9L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 (which also includes 3 USB 3.0 ports). This works like a charm. Although advertised as having Windows 10 Pro installed, mine came with Windows 11 Pro (no complaints here). There was also no bloatware installed that I could see. There were a few cosmetic issues, to include some small, barely noticeable nicks on the edges of the laptop and a single dead pixel in the lower center of the display. No other issues large enough to be a deal breaker.

The Dell Precision arrived without a power supply, I purchased one and wasn't reimbursed. It came with Windows 10 which I was able to upgrade to Windows 11 pro. The system reported that a cooling fan had stopped. I replaced both fans. The laptop shut off before the battery was empty and was unresponsive until connected to a power supply. It would not booed up off the battery. The four Amber flashes of the charge indicator are signs that there is a power system or motherboard problem. Bios hard resets and other tricks like removing and replacing the ram didn't solve it in the system diagnostics say everything is fine. I replaced the battery and it runs for hours on the China battery putting out 11.8 volts but it cannot boot up off the battery... ?UEFI POST problem? After it fails it is a "no power" situation which means the power button and computer do nothing until the AC power is reconnected.... And the trackpad buttons barely respond.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
