1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER !!!
By Capt. C.
I can only begin this review with serious misgivings about this particular Dell Inspirion laptop. When one purchases a product from a "Dell Vendor", one presumes it is a 100% Dell product. Apparently this was not the case with this laptop. Exactly 3 days after the Amazon/Vendor's return policy ran out, this laptop stopped working. The error message was "Corrupt Hard Drive". I can understand electronic devices will sometimes have issues. I can also understand manufacturers and vendors need to have a limit on how long they will allow items to be returned. So we called Dell Warranty Service, and they were very helpful. They sent a box, pre-paid shipping label and we thought that would be the end of it. Wait a reasonable time for the laptop to be repaired under warranty, and we could go on with our lives. NOT SO. According to the Dell Warranty Center, this particular laptop has a 3rd Party Hard Drive. Not a hard-drive provided by Dell or installed by Dell or used by Dell. So... our laptop was... in fact... not able to be repaired under warranty. Dell has offered to fix the laptop and install the correct, but the repair is nearly as much as the laptop cost new from Amazon. This is totally unacceptable! When we bought the laptop, we presumed it was a new Dell Laptop with appropriately sourced and installed electronics that would be approved by Dell (or installed by Dell)... BUYER BEWARE of ROKC Electronics. They have offered NO Help, NO Sympathy, and we are now completely out of the money we spent, and have a laptop that is absolutely Useless!!!! I can only imagine if we were still in the window for return, they would put the same Non-Dell parts back in, and we would be facing similar issues down the road. This is not the way to run a business. And certainly not the way an Amazon vendor should be doing business. Very Very Very Disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Splurge it’s worth it
By JESSICA MAURER
I honestly love this computer so far. I had originally bought a cheaper off brand one (don’t make my mistake). I’m a student so the speed and performance of this computer is perfect for my classes. Super easy to setup and the keyboard just flows when you type. The touchscreen (I didn’t think I would use but I find myself using it and I love it) the only concern is the charging cable gets a bit hot but it doesn’t seem to be an issue with the computer. Splurge if you are looking to buy and get this one. Definitely worth the price. My cousin has had her older version of this for over 5years and it’s still functioning almost as fast as this new one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'Original Seal is opened for upgrade ONLY' mean for this Dell Inspiron?
The manufacturer's box was opened by the seller to test the laptop and install the specific upgrades advertised—16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD—to achieve the exact configuration listed. The laptop itself is new and has not been used by a previous customer.
What are the actual RAM and storage capacities installed in this specific configuration?
This specific unit comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM (running at 3200 MHz) and a 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. While the laptop's motherboard supports future upgrades up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, those are not pre-installed here.
Does the included Microsoft Office 2024 require a subscription or product key?
No. This laptop includes a pre-activated, lifetime license for Microsoft Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 (with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). It does not require a product key or a recurring subscription, but installing Office 365 will invalidate this permanent license.
What type and how many USB ports does this laptop have?
It has three USB ports: one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port (often called USB 3.0), and one slower USB 2.0 Type-A port. It also includes an HDMI 1.4 port and an SD card reader.
Is the Intel Core i5-1334U processor a 10-core CPU?
Yes, the Intel Core i5-1334U is a 10-core processor. It uses a hybrid architecture with 2 Performance-cores and 8 Efficient-cores, for a total of 10 physical cores and 12 processing threads, with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.6 GHz.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
