5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine
By Somebody
I have a bunch of Dell laptops that I have had to retire after about two years of use. The keys peel off exposing the light under them or a key will just stop working. Press it and nothing happens. For that reason I consider laptops disposable and I am okay with this one not lasting beyond two years if that's what happens again. I'm on the keyboard about 12 hours a day, so I am hard on them. The Dell I replaced with this one also developed some other problems so I just gave up on it. Luckily it was Cyber Monday so I was able to buy at a good price. One thing I hated: the version of Word it comes with. It was very uncooperative with my history of using Word over the years. I deleted it and dug my 2010 version out of storage which I then installed. It was like being reunited with an old friend. I also had to use Open Shell for a Windows 7-like start menu. Can you tell I'm very old school? The computer is very lightweight and doesn't heat up much so it'll be comfortable to use in the summer. Recommended.

Great laptop now that I am retired. I can type again now that my computer is 14" same a my business one was i'm not impressed with the webcam but I haven't look into the settings. This has plenty of speed and space. If course I basically work on the internet. No big spreadsheets or documents.

great laptop for the price. The 16GB RAM and 512GB ssd provide smooth performance and the 180° hinge is a nice touch. Windows 11 runs well, and the sleek Silver Gray design looks premium. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rocky setup, but end result was worth it

The media could not be loaded. When I first booted this laptop up, it presented me with a "defaultuser0" account that I didn't know the password to. I completely wiped this laptop's SSD and reinstalled Windows to play it safe, and after that it worked like a charm with regular setup. I did have to find drivers online for the touchpad afterward though.Getting at the SSD to do all of this was thankfully pretty easy, since the bottom panel was removable with a few tiny screws. I noticed that there is only a single slot for RAM in there, but it isn't soldered on so I was able to upgrade it with a 16 gig stick at least. The N97 is no gaming powerhouse but it plays some older titles still, and the laptop works great for work like emails and browsing the internet.
