5.0 out of 5 stars Grab it before the ram goes bye bye!
By Mason Smith-Timberlake
Works well after upgrading from a 5 year old laptop from a late gen. Good style, nice metal finish with good keyboard backlight and hi-def screen. The WiFi card can get you a solid download rate and faster plugged up. Good value if you can get payments for it under 150 per month. Plays most games currently out as well at medium-high settings!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad that I'm stuck with a brand new computer that isn't worth the price.
By Jennifer Lynn
I was expecting a computer that ran exceptionally well.I wanted one that ran fast both with gaming and daily usage. At almost $2000, this laptop shouldn't have any issues, especially right out of the box, yet here I am living the dream of having an expensive computer that's not worth the price.I received this computer on January 13th. Today is January 23rd. I noticed the problem a few days in and it just continues.I have had laptops for the better part of 20 years ranging from cheap to expensive. This laptop being the most expensive I have purchased to date. For starters, the screen drops out. When I log on, it goes black for a couple seconds. Not a big deal but annoying since this is a new computer and shouldn't have issues. (I had this same issue with my last Asus laptop).Surfing the internet, it's slow to open web pages or go from one page to another. It's not an internet issue. I verified. It's a shoddy computer issue.A couple times, I let it sit idle so the screen went dark. Trying to get it to start up again was not easy. I had to do a hard restart.I had an Asus Rogue that I bought in 2017 that I loved. It had great storage, it was fast and I had no issues with it. The ONLY reason I gave it up was because it fell on the floor and I had issues with the screen then the latch broke so it wouldn't stay open on it's own. It was also heavy & big so if I had to take it anywhere, it wasn't easy. Since it was several years old, I was ok with getting another laptop.April 2024, I bought another Asus Rogue. It wasn't as good as the last. Storage was limited and I noticed right out of the box, it had issues. It was fast but the screen dropped out for a few seconds whenever I moved the computer, unplugged it or plugged it in.In December 2025, it looked as if the graphics card dropped out. My screen was very bright and I wasn't able to see anything but a few colors. I couldn't even see the mouse pointer in order to go into different programs. Rather than messing with a laptop I wasn't happy with, I just decided to order this Asus Tuf from Amazon.I wanted a computer that ran fast, had storage and if I wanted, would play games well.I am so utterly disappointed with this laptop. I would return it in a heartbeat if I could.I should have done more research before purchasing this laptop and I stupidly did not buy the very expensive protection plan. Now I'm stuck with this laptop that isn't worth the time.Another issue I'm having is when I'm typing something whether it's in word or a webpage, there is a lag. It just happened as I was typing this review. I know I type fast but I shouldn't have to wait for words to catch up.Now I'm stuck paying for a laptop that I absolutely despise.I'm not sure if this is how these computers work or if there is an issue with this one in particular. I just know I am not happy. For the record, I am not new to computers. I have been using computers since the late 80's. In early 90's, I started teaching myself a few programs so I could land a better job. In 2000, I secured a computer programming degree and a year later, started repairing desktop computers as a side hustle to make a few bucks.I know how a computer should run, how it should respond, what is good and what is not so good. I know what to look for in a computer, what specs are good & what specs I should avoid. So let's recap the issues with this laptop.1. The screen drops out for a few seconds for no reason.2. It is SLOW. If I am trying to go from one webpage to another, it takes it's time.3. There is a lag when I type. Not all the time but it's happened enough for me to notice. I don't type 300 words per minute so there is no reason for this type of lag.4. Something else I should mention. I tried to exit out of a page & the computer didn't respond. This has happened 5 times so far.5. If the computer sits idle and the screen goes black, the only way to get back in is to do a hard reset. It's not every time but it happened a few times. You should only have to click a key in order for the screen to light back up. Not on this one.I bought a new computer or so I thought. I did not order a refurbished computer. I would have NEVER purchased a refurbished laptop. At almost $2000, I expect better. So am I stuck with horrible thing? Probably. After this, I don't know if I am going to support Asus. This is 2 computers now that I have had issues with.Maybe for someone who isn't so tech savvy, it's no big deal. For someone who has been around computers for over 30 years, I know what to expect. I don't expect to have issues with a brand new computer right from the jump.I'm sorry but I can not recommend this computer and that's sad coming from me because I am a hardcore Asus fan.If gaming is what you're buying this computer for, I would seriously rethink that decision. If I'm having trouble with daily usage, I can't even imagine how bad it would be for gaming.Pro Gaming laptop? I don't think so. There is nothing pro about this laptop. Nothing.I am giving it 1 star because I expect a better performance.
