4.0 out of 5 stars Memory on this model requires it to be soldered on but great if on sale
By Ch33t0
I like it and for the sale price of $950 it was a bargain. My only complaints are it comes with Windows 11 and the memory is soldered on so if you want more than 16GB you will either have to get the model with the 32GB soldered on, pay someone to do it or be good enough to do it yourself. Out of the box it had 58% memory usage with the 16GB model I purchased. After removing bloatware, unnecessary windows services and components, at idle it runs about 38% usage for me. I kept the Predator apps and what not, they are pretty nifty. It runs games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora at max settings at 1080p and can do 4k but I wouldn’t recommend it. We mostly play Diablo 4 and Baldur’s Gate 3 on it and those can be ran at 4k or 2k and run rather well. The fan does run loud when ya do set to auto in turbo mode so I highly recommend a laptop cooling pad to help. We have not experienced any hot temps even without the cooling pad but better safe than sorry. Not worth buying unless it’s 950 or less, even more less as this model gets older. Was gonna build a portable desktop with a built in display for the case but I have too many projects as it is not to mention I work a lot so this was a nice cheap alternative to get me by until I had the time to build something better that can be upgraded in the future. At $950 on 2024 Black Friday I feel I got what I paid for just wish I had gotten the 32GB model looking back. I am capable of soldering on extra memory myself however so if it becomes a problem in the future it wouldn’t be an issue for my household.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be Careful!
By SoranotRoxas
On Dec 24, 2024. I purchased the "Acer Predator Helios Neo 14 Gaming Laptop | 14.5" WQXGA IPS 120Hz Display | AI-Powered | Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 155H | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 | 16GB LPDDR5X | 1TB Gen 4 SSD | PHN14-51-797W." I know, I just copy and paste that whole thing, but its necessary to know what exactly what I have purchased and when so you don't make the same mistake. The computer arrived fine and work for a few months just fine. It ran games incredibly smoothly, was a bit on the smaller size than what I'm used to but that's fine. About a couple of weeks ago however, the ports on the thing stopped working! I couldn't use my Flash drive to save or transfer nothing. It was a motherboard problem I thought. So I sent it to get repaired. I was told it was "beyond repair" due to the motherboard being obsolete. I couldn't believe it! I brought the computer new, but apparently it could have been put together with faulty parts. Unbelievable! Always be aware of what your buying, and if it feels like its been used before... it probably was. Or get a Computer with more ports...seriously guys, only two USB ports?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for everyday use and casual gaming

As someone who enjoys gaming and often juggles multiple tasks, this laptop has been a great fit for my needs. The large Full screen really stands out. it makes watching videos and playing games feel immersive and smooth. Also, impressed with how quickly it starts up and handles apps, even when switching between assignments, streaming, and casual web browsing. It’s been a reliable companion so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, run smooth and looks cool!

I've been daily using it and I'm loving it. This laptop handles everything smooth without any lag even with multiple apps and multiple tabs open. I regularly have 20+ chrome tabs open along with other apps like teams, slack, Illustrator, etc and it just keeps running smooth. The design looks slick, nice and thin with metal finish. To be honest it feels way more expensive than it is.Battery lasts me through most of the workday, its decent, around 5~6 hours working without charging.Overall its a great pick if you don't want to spend too much and need a powerful laptop.
